What a tragedy!!

Life is so fragile... I just wish I am dreaming and hope this news is not true.

Early morning looking at the newspaper my friend was involved in massive landslide. I couldn't believe that the picture is my friend until I went to his Facebook to check out his chinese name and there I found his written a post out message about his wife's death.

It was so sudden. Last Wednesday we just sat for our exams and he was happily talking about his wife. He told us many stories of his wife. All of us couldn't accept this news and even some of our friends thought it was a joke about the news spread to them.


According to the news reported, the landslide took the residents, most of whom were in bed at the time, by surprise. One resident was still missing last night and 23 others were injured. About 90 residents were rescued from the landslide, which destroyed 14 bungalows.

Our friend had tried frantically to save his wife after she was buried by the rubble. He dug furiously and desperately into the soil and did not stop even when his hands were cut and bruised.

By the time he uncovered the soil, his wife was unconscious. But he did not lose hope.

'One and two and three and four and...,' he counted softly as he pumped steadily on his wife's chest.

He gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, before giving her more chest compressions.

Alas, his efforts were futile. His wife could not be revived.

She leaves behind a two-month-old baby boy.


Actually our friend, "J" and his wife were living in Damansara, but had gone to stay with his parents in Bukit Antarabangsa for the long weekend as his mother missed the baby. So less fortunate it happen such cases.

All of us went to his wife's funeral, he cried until his eyes were swollen and we saw his head was injured. A patch of his hairs were gone and some stitches on his head. He almost fainted after he pressed the button of a cremation.

His wife is his everything. We couldn't imagine how will he be now. All we hope is him to stay strong. Hope everything will soon be okay. We will always be by your side and support your everything.

What does that means?

Most of us can easily see that Chinese have light skin complexions.

As for me, I am different. Many of the surrounding people misunderstand me as a mix blood.

Scene 1 :
I was walking towards an entrance of a building to attend a course. There were 2 men whispering to each another with their eyes on me. I ignore them by walking pass them. Those 2 men stopped me. One of them is an Indian guy who is a newspaper delivery man and another is a Malay guy who is the guard of the building.

That Newspaper man asked "Excuse me, miss. Are you a Chinese?". I replied "Yes". Immediately that Newspaper man told the guard, "See.. I've told you she is a Chinese!" To my surprise, they were actually putting a bet on my appearance. That was really funny experience which I ever encountered.

Scene 2 :
I was in Tesco, queueng for my turn to weight the fruits at the counter. It was a long queue and the chinese old woman stood infront of me turn behind and told me in malays, "Hari ini memang banyak orang ya?". There I replied her in chinese, "是的。。今天珍的很多人." She was shocked and she immediate apologize to me. Many of my friends said I am very naughty of making fun of the old lady. But I didn't act as I was other races?

Scene 3 :
Deepavali is around the corner. I planned to make fun of my friends by calling them for a deepavali open house. Those friends who are not close to me, who they have never meet my family before. They really call my other friends to join. Until they call up to my close friend and there he found out that I was playing prank on them. But it is too late as he invited most of my friends. In conclusion, I did set up a party for deepavali. I have learned my lesson. Never play prank calls on my friends. LOL

When you first bite the dark chocolate, it was first taste very bitter. But after few bites of the dark chocolate, you could taste the sweetness the beauty of a dark chocolate. My mom always tells me, although I have dark skinned. But that doesn't mean I am not lovable. To my mom, I am the black pearl, it shines from the bottom of her heart. People may not see the true beauty of it, but she does. As the malay proverb goes, "Hitam manis". I now feels the confidence on myself and never look down on my skin colours.

Remember yourself, myself, and ourselves that, "Every clouds has a silver lining".
